Victorian Creation
The Postcard Music Box
We have created for you the "Postcard Music Box". This music box lets your creativity shine through by letting you select the postcard, music box and adornments you wish use to make this your very own creation.
These would be great for gifts for almost anyone on your list. You may even want to personalize this creation even more by selecting special music the person receiving it may like.
Let Us Get Started:
Materials Needed:
1. Plywood board....a little bigger than your post card
2. Antique post card
3. Music box
4. Gold paint...we used dazzling metallic glorious gold
5. Sponge brush
6. Craft glue....we used a water base glue and sealer matte finish
7. Brass corners
8. Epoxy glue
9. Gold Glitter
Let Us Create:
1. You can either use your original post card or scan and print it with your computer.
2. Paint the front of your plywood board ... let one side dry a few hours than paint the back.
3. Apply a thin coat of glue to the board and proceed to adhere your post card ... smooth with your hand any ridges. (if you are using the sealer you may want to apply a very thin coat to the top of the postcard)
4. Apply your brass corners with the epoxy glue ... we liked using two only.
5. If you want, apply just a little gold glitter with your craft glue (as we did in the tree)
6. Attach your music box to the back of the plywood with the epoxy glue.
You are done!
This is a fun and quick project that will bring many years of joy to your family and friends.
HAPPY CREATING!
