Souvenir Spoon Ornament
Many of the Victorians collected souvenirs to display from their travels. One of the many items they collected were souvenir spoons. These spoons were available usually in silver or silver plate. Some were very plain and some were very ornate.

We have found many examples of these spoons in antique stores, flea markets etc... The price ranges from a few dollars and up according to if the spoon is silver or silver plate. You should be able to identify if the spoon is silver by checking the back of the handle. It usually says sterling with identification marks. Also, check the spoons carefully. Some of them have dates of a special occasions such as a gift to someone or a special event.
The "Souvenir Spoon Ornament" is one of the easiest ornaments we have every created. However, it will be one of the most treasured ornaments to be hung on your Christmas tree year after year.
This ornament is great family project. Let your children pick out the spoons and stickers they like and let them make their own heirloom to be hung on the tree year after year.

Let us get started.
Materials Needed:
1) Souvenir spoons
2) Christmas stickers
3) Thin ecru lace
4) Craft Glue
5) Scissors
6) Thin gold elastic cord

Let's Create:
1) Just place your sticker on the round portion of the spoon. Make sure to measure the sticker before placing it securely.
2) Glue the lace around the sticker.
3) Tie the gold cord around the handle of the spoon for a hanger.
You are done!
