Displaying Your Collectables

As we all know the Victorian's were very big on collecting. In our modern world we do not have as much time or space to put into this particular past time. However, a collection can be made of 2 pieces or 1,000 pieces.

The big question is "How Do We Display Our Collections"?

We want to have our collections displayed in our homes, so when we have our visitors we can have many topics of conversations available at our fingertips. Also, let us admit we kind of like showing them off!

First of all, it is always nice to display your collections in a group form. If they are scattered around your home, it doesn't seem to be as visually pleasing.

If you are a jewelry collector, such as cameos, there are many display table top boxes available in the Gift Stores around the country. The display box we have pictured is perfect for set and unset cameos. It truly makes them a work of art! You can also display pens/pencils in this type of box. There are also boxes available with inserts in them for the pens/pencils.

Also, for a stickpin collection, check into our back issue where we created a great way to display your stickpins in almost any room in your home.

For unique collections like wax seals, we have found an inexpensive watch display dome works well. It sits lovely upon a living room end table or on your secretary or desk. What a topic of conversation the wax seals would make!

Let us not forget about displaying in our bathrooms. It may sound a little funny but think, "What could we display in our bathrooms"? How about miniature perfume bottles. Just get a small wall curio and enter in your bottles. This is a great way to make your bathroom have its own style. Don't forget, the bathroom also lends it self well to displaying a shell collection.

If you have a collection of vases such as cornucopias, maybe you should get an antique looking shelf. The one we have pictured is specifically made to display items in clear view.

We love to share our collectables with our friends and families. So display them proudly and always have a topic of conversation at your fingertips.
