When we decorate our homes we want our own style to shine through. We want our home to be unique, creative and comfortable. One way to have your home reflect your unique style is to incorporate a "Doll house".

We visited a wonderful shop called "Little Treasures" in Westfield NJ. Jeffrey M. Haveson gave us an enlightening tour of what is available to decorate your "Doll house".

We have learned when buying your first doll house think of it as buying your first "real" home, but in miniature form. You need to select the style of home whether it be Victorian, Traditional, Whimsical, paint coloring in and out, wall paper, carpet, furniture, landscaping, and that is just the beginning.

When you enter "Little Treasures" think of Jeffrey as your personal interior decorator, realtor, mortgage broker, architect and much more. He can put together your personal doll house within your budget and style.

A doll house can fit into almost any room in your home. You can create a doll house to look exactly like your "real" home or create a doll house that is your dream home.

You can buy a doll house already assembled or a kit to assemble yourself.

If you do not have the space for a doll house think of doing a room box. Wouldn't it be great if your bedroom was decorated in the Victorian style, make a room box that looks exactly like your "real" bedroom and either place it on a table or hang it on the wall. Another place it would be fun to put a room box would be in the kitchen. Say you have a 1950's style kitchen you can create your room box with the same type of furniture and accessories to emulate your "real" kitchen. The room boxes are also great in children's rooms. Let them pick the style they want and make a creation of their own.

We enjoyed the concept of having a doll house as a family project. Give each child and adult in your home their own room to decorate, and don't forget they can change the room with each season. This idea is great because you save on space by having one doll house and arguments over who gets to decorate the doll house. Remember, this is much easier on your budget also.

Another way you can use the miniature furniture is on a shelf . Maybe you have an empty shelf and didn't know what to do with it, put a few pieces of miniature furniture on the shelf, and it makes a great decoration.

Don't forget, with each season you can change your rooms in your doll house, room box or shelf to reflect the current holiday.

The selection of furniture and accessories is almost limitless. At "Little Treasures" you have an enormous selection of doll houses, room boxes, furniture and accessories. Also, if you need a certain color or style just ask Jeffrey, they have custom capabilities for you to explore.

Also, you may want to entertain the idea of a doll house for your toddler but are afraid they may be too rough for it. Don't worry, at "Little Treasures" they have doll houses that you can assemble for a modest budget and includes the accessories, and of course are sturdy.

Remember, gender does not matter. Any gender any age enjoys creating a doll house that gives them joy for years to come. Also, you never get tired of your doll house because you can rearrange or buy new furniture at any time. Remember, you can also decorate your doll house to reflect each holiday season.

We want to thank Jeffrey M. Haveson to taking us on a wonderful journey through the world of doll houses.

Happy Decorating!
