Victorian Decorating Tips

Wedding Favor

Decorating With Wedding Favors

We receive many questions on what to give for favors, especially for a Victorian theme wedding.
So, we have a few suggestions for you that you can make easily, cost effective and give you that Victorian flavor with a modern personality.

Don't forget, you can also display your favors in a very attractive and decorative way.

Let us take a look and enjoy!

1. Use a lace hanky or doily and wrap a "2000" charm or "2000" coin in it and tie with a ribbon. Add a seal with your monogram to give it a little vintage charm. To give the hanky a little poof, wrap the charm/coin in tissue paper.
(The wax seal can be purchased in "Living Victorian Gift Shop")
(Hint: put the wax seal on a piece of light cardboard. Cut it out and use double tape and apply to the ribbon so you don't drip wax on your hanky)

2. Take inexpensive tea cups and put little candies in it and wrap in a netting with a ribbon. Your guests will remember you when sipping their tea!

3. Use paper doilys and make cornucopias out of them instead of candy put a little lace or netted bag of potpourri.

4. Buy inexpensive small "antique looking" picture frames and you can emboss on ecru paper your monogram or design. Cut out the paper to fit the frame and glue the lace around the paper. Just put into the frame. What a wonderful useful favor. They can always put their own picture in it!
(The embossers can be purchased in "Living Victorian Gift Shop")

Displaying your favors.............

1. You can put your favors into a basket decorated with flowers and lace and use them as your centerpiece. At the end of the wedding, each guest can take home the favors which are right on their table.

2. A silver bowl is another way to display your favors, and again if you can find enough to put on your tables; this would make a really elegant centerpiece and favor displayer.

We hope we have given you some ideas to create your personal "Wedding Favors".

Happy Decorating!
