Quick Strawberry Dessert Recipes For Your Summer Table

For the summer months we wanted to give you a special "Victorian Decorating Tips" section; "Quick Strawberry Dessert Recipes For Your Summer Table."

The Victorians loved to enjoy the outdoors. Also, in many cases during the summer months being outside was cooler than staying in the non-air condition house.

We have developed quick and easy recipes for you to enjoy on a summer day, without staying in a hot kitchen.



Strawberry Ricotta


STRAWBERRY RICOTTA DELIGHT

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 PINT OF RIPE STRAWBERRIES

  • 1 JAR OF YOUR FAVORITE HONEY

  • 1 PINT OF YOUR FAVORITE RICOTTA

Wash and cut your strawberries in quarters lengthwise. Keep the green tops of the strawberries for a decoration.

Then put a half of cup of honey in a small sauce pan, and heat over a low heat until it becomes a thin consistency.

Place approximately l/2 cup of ricotta into an individual glass dessert dish ( an ice cream or jello dish works well)

Place your cut strawberries around the ricotta in the dish surrounding the ricotta.

Pour a thin layer of honey over the ricotta.

Place a strawberry top in the center of the ricotta.

You are done! (The above serves approximately 3 - 4)

This dessert is sure to be a winner!


Strawberry Tart


QUICK STRAWBERRY TART

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 PINT OF RIPE STRAWBERRIES

  • 1-1/2 TEASPOONS OF SUGAR

  • PACK OF SPONGE CAKE TART SHELLS (6PCS.)

Wash your strawberries and cut into quarters.

Place strawberries into a bowl and add the sugar, mix thoroughly.

Chill approximately one hour.

Place the strawberries into the tart shells fully filling the tart.

That is it! (This serves 6 )

You may want to add whip cream to top it off.

These quick and easy desserts are sure to please everyone at your next outdoor party.
