Unique Ways To Keep A Journal

Our ancestors kept records of their travels, events, thoughts, poems etc ..... in their special journal.

Since September 2001 we all seem to be in a more reflecting mood. That is why, we are suggesting at this time, it would be a good idea to start a journal. However, we do not have the time to write all our thoughts and events daily, but we can take a minute or two if we do it in an organized fashion.

We want to help you start your journal. Our staff has many suggestions for you to keep an organized journal or sort of journal in minimal time.

Wouldn't it be great if your grandchildren found your journal and read the experiences and events that happened to you!

Of course you can write a daily journal which is the most common type. But, why not be unique and try say a journal box. Take a decorative, let's say hat box, and when an event or important thought occurs, write it on a small piece of paper and put it in your box. We call this the fortune box. Make sure to put the date on the papers so everyone will know when the note was written. Wouldn't it be fun to find a box like that and read the papers one by one...it is truly a fortune to be found.

Maybe you would want to try a holiday journal. This could be a lot of fun. Use a book or binder and at each holiday put down the events that occurred, gifts you received and any important fact that you think would be interesting. How much fun, as the years go by, you could look back with your children and reminisce about what happened on a particular holiday. You may even want a journal for each special holiday.

You can also do a memory journal. In a book/binder you could write small notes on events that occurred and put a photo, movie ticket, napkin etc...that would be a reminder of that special occasion.

The most important point in keeping a journal is preserving the wonderful memories through your life that could be enjoyed by your family for many generations to come.

Happy Writing!
